Important Notice to all clients of OWCC
Closure and Wind Down Notification
The Board of Directors of Office Workers Career Centre (OWCC) regrets to inform our valued clients that OWCC will wind down operations and close effective April 9, 2010.
- Effective immediately, no new clients will be accepted to OWCC.
- Effective immediately, half-day workshops will no longer be scheduled.
- The P.O.W.E.R. program is already fully booked and will operate in March only..
- As of March 31st all client services will cease in the Resource Centre (Suite 1701)
- The Computer Lab will operate until April 9th.
- The last day of client services in Suite 1802 will be Friday April 9, 2010.
Employment Ontario, a branch of the Ontario Government / Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, has reorganized employment assistance services in Ontario.
Employment Ontario stated,
“They will be changing the way it (the sector) does business, so that Ontarians will be able to find the employment services and training programs they need in a one-stop shop, rather than going from place to place.”
There are many service providers left in the new system and we are confident that you will continue to benefit from the services offered. "The government has asked 40 organizations to provide the new employment services in 70 locations in Toronto. By August 2010, job seekers and employers should find a full range of employment services in each of these locations." For a current list of locations go to....

After a review consultation, our Executive Director and the Staff at OWCC, Employment Ontario has decided not to include OWCC in the new employment services system. This is no reflection on the quality of services or staff at OWCC
In over 13 years of service, Office Workers Career Centre has had the pleasure of working with tens of thousands clients and in sharing each of their success stories. We will all miss the opportunity to help and support you in the future.
